When you create your domain’s email like [email protected] for example, using it with Horde or SquirrelMail is not very convenient option. Especially if you master many websites and need to check the inboxes of 20 emails. In that situation, your best option is to use Microsoft Outlook.
But if for some reason you don’t like Outlook, or you love the Gmail user interface, you can manage all of your email account from one location within Gmail by doing these steps.
Set Up Gmail For Your Own Domain
We have to create a domain email address and Forward it to Gmail.
First login in your hosting Cpanel and click on Email account.
After you create your email, go to Forwarders.
In “Address to Forward” type the email address you have just created.
In the “Forward to email address” field type the gmail email you are going to use. For example [email protected].
Then click on Add Forwarder.
Add another email address in Gmail
In order to add another email address you own to Gmail, you must go to Settings > Accounts.
After you click on “Add another email address you own”, fill your Name and Email address.
The next step is to fill the fields properly. The correct way to fill in these fields may depend on the hosting. For me, the way that works is:
user: [email protected]
That’s it. Now you can send and receive emails from your domain email in Gmail. When you compose a new message, don’t forget to choose from which email to send it.
